Driven by sales & passioned about agriculture, trends and opportunities

As the new Business Development Manager, you'll spearhead expansion efforts, identifying new growth opportunities, nurturing client relationships and maximizing sales revenue. On the one hand you will boost sales and growth in new and existing markets, on the other hand you will be responsible for the commercialisation of new products.

Your expertise and passion for the sector play a crucial role in smoothly navigating the complexities of international markets, using your in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of agricultural trends and customer requirements to push products and services to new heights.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve targets and expand market share (geographic expansion and new product introductions). Identify new strategic business opportunities to increase sales revenue and profitability of Berry’s range of agricultural products.
  • Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with clients, distributors, and industry partners worldwide. Manage and optimize relationship management in new territories. You are part of the global sales team and are responsible for developing and expanding the customer portfolio, as well as establishing Berry's presence within the agriculture and horticulture sectors. You manage a number of (global) key accounts and cultivate sustainable customer relationships: maintaining regular contact and monitoring sales performance. You conduct regular analyses and focus on active and well-founded account management.
  • Undertaking pathfinder investigations to determine appropriate routes to market, target distributors and customers, competitive positions and product specifications.
  • Conducting market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and new business opportunities. You provide a thorough market analysis (customers, competitors, products, applications, trends, etc.) to capitalize on the right opportunities in the market and translate them into targeted sales actions. Additionally, you prospect strategically to tap into new markets and generate new revenue.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams (R&D, production, product management,…) to ensure alignment of sales strategies with product development and marketing efforts.
  • Representing the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote brand awareness and forge valuable connections.

As an ideal candidate you possess:

  • Broad understanding of the agri industry and business operations. Proven experience in sales and business development within the sector, preferably on an international scale.
  • A track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth. Strong knowledge of account management and market development.
  • International mindset (and experience). Willing to travel, working from Zele. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English and preferably other languages (French, German, Spanish).
  • Strong analytical abilities and strategic thinking, with a keen eye for market opportunities. Ability to identify, define, prioritise, and address market opportunities using data and qualitative information. Ability to drive new product development and lead the commercialization of new products.
  • Your personality is characterized by entrepreneurship, maturity, action-oriented behaviour and persuasiveness.
  • A passion for agriculture and a deep understanding of global agricultural dynamics.

  • An dynamic organization built on a pleasant company culture that aligns with the societal trend towards sustainability. An international context that offers security and ample opportunities for personal growth, training, and development. A competitive salary with a comprehensive package of fringe benefits.
  • An autonomous and varied role in a direct and informal culture, where team spirit and communications are paramount and where taking the initiative is encouraged.
  • You will join a company with a strong international dimension. You will be part of a listed group that is financially sound and has a good no-nonsense mentality, a dynamic work environment, and friendly colleagues.
  • You will be at the forefront of further expansion and can help shape the growth and success strategy of a company with a solid reputation.
