Our Tests

During an assessment center at Hudson, you may be asked to complete a number of tests. No worries - these aren’t exams, but tools designed to help us better understand your talents and thinking style, and to build an objective and nuanced picture of who you are and how you function in a professional context.

Tests at Hudson

Why do we use tests?

Tests allow us to go beyond what you say in an interview or show in an exercise. They provide objective insights into your cognitive abilities, personality, work style, and preferences. This helps us align your profile more closely with the expectations of the role and the organization.

What types of tests might you encounter?

Depending on the procedure and the profile you're applying for, different tests may be included. These are always carefully selected based on the competencies we aim to evaluate. You may encounter:

  • Personality questionnaires – provide insight into your behavioral preferences and how you function in a professional context. View an example.

  • Motivation questionnaires – map out what drives you and gives you energy at work.

  • Simulation exercises – replicate realistic work situations, such as role plays or case studies.

  • Abstract reasoning tests – measure your ability to think logically and solve problems. View an example.

  • Numerical reasoning tests – assess your numerical insight and analytical skills. View an example.

  • Verbal reasoning tests – evaluate your language comprehension and verbal reasoning. View an example.

  • In-tray exercises – require you to prioritize and make decisions based on a series of incoming tasks.

  • Situational Judgment Tests – ask how you would respond in hypothetical work scenarios.

  • 360° feedback – gathers input from colleagues, managers, and possibly clients to provide a broad view of your performance.

Scientifically validated and reliable

At Hudson, we place great importance on the quality and reliability of our tests. Our in-house R&D department develops and refines these tools based on scientific research and practical experience. Each test instrument is thoroughly validated and regularly updated to ensure it is accurate, relevant, and fair. This allows us to evaluate you with confidence — and provide meaningful feedback you can truly benefit from.

How to prepare?

You don’t need to study. The tests are designed to reveal your natural strengths.

💡 It’s helpful to start the tests well-rested and focused.

💡 Make sure you’re in a quiet environment and read the instructions carefully.

💡 Take your time to answer each question attentively.

💡 When in doubt: stay true to yourself.

What happens to your results?

Your test results are always interpreted by experienced consultants and placed in context. They form part of the broader picture we build of you, alongside observations from interviews and exercises. You’ll always receive feedback afterwards, so you know where you stand and where you can continue to grow.
